Promotion of Active Learning
Students learn more effectively when they participate in the process of learning. Active learning is a form of learning in which teaching strives to engage students to participate in the class and collaborate with each other. Therefore, it is our school’s major concern to provide quality education by reinforcing the culture of active learning through various measures:
- Preparing more tasks: more compulsory pre- or post-lesson tasks / assessment with individual feedback using e-Learning tools for S1–S5 students.
- Developing learning habits: requiring students to take notes during lessons, using revised scoring rubrics for classroom performance, introducing the Active Learning Award, and requiring students in exchange programmes to adopt an active learning attitude.
- Developing learning skills: designing activities requiring specific active learning skills, requiring students to make personal notes for revision, and promoting further reading through various new activities.
- Adopting active teaching pedagogies: strengthening peer interaction in lessons.
