S3 Environmental Awareness Outing

2025-01-23

The Moral and Civic Education Committee organized the Environmental Awareness Outing Day for all S3 students, offering engaging activities to deepen their understanding of environmental issues through real-life experiences.

This year, students participated in four activities, each focusing on different aspects of sustainability and conservation. Some students joined the WWF Wetland Encounter Programme at Mai Po Nature Reserve, where they explored diverse wetland habitats and engaged in birdwatching. Others visited the Food Waste Recycling Plant and Organic Farm at Sheung Shui under the Sustainable Development School Outreach Programme, learning about food waste recycling and organic farming. A group of students took part in a guided tour of the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change and an eco-tour to the Lake Ad Excellentiam at CUHK, co-organized with the Careers Team, where they also had the opportunity to interact with alumni about university life. Lastly, in collaboration with our STEM Education Committee, students became environmental detectives in the "Victoria Harbour Detective: Solving the Mystery of Water Quality" activity, where they collected water samples at East Coast Park Precinct and conducted hands-on experiments to analyze water quality.

These activities provided students with valuable insights into sustainability, climate change, and conservation, strengthening their commitment to environmental protection.
